Introducing our Europe Regional Secretary: David Montgomery

David and Gwen MontgomeryWe are delighted to announce the appointment of David “Monty” Montgomery as our new IFES Regional Secretary for Europe. 

Monty was the General Secretary of the national movement in Ireland from 2013 to 2018 and since then has been on the IFES Europe regional team as Associate Regional Secretary for Pioneering and Bible Teaching. Monty studied English Literature and Music at the University of Stirling, Scotland, and later completed an MDiv at Regent College Vancouver, Canada. In 2013 he completed doctoral studies at Covenant Theological Seminary in St Louis, USA where he specialised in church planting. Monty is married to Gwen, who runs her own business as well as supporting projects, events, and leaders in IFES Europe. 

Tim Adams (IFES General Secretary) writes: “I am really grateful to God for the way he has led us to this point. I believe that the ministry experience, theological depth, and spiritual maturity which Monty brings to the role of regional secretary will be a great asset to IFES Europe, as well as to the global leadership of IFES. In our conversation this week Monty shared a deep sense of calling to the role but also a strong awareness of the need to depend on the Lord to equip him and guide him. So please join me in praying for Monty and working to support him as he takes up this new responsibility.” 

Monty takes on this new responsibility from 21 February 2022.
